My childhood..

How do u spend your childhood n early teenage years? Mine?..Its hard to judge, theres a pros and cons of my upbringing. I never blame anyone, my parent, myself or society for it. For me its just nature following its course.
I was born premature, 7 months in d womb, not because i can’t wait to get out but my mom have this complication concerning high blood pressure. It either me or her, that is going to die, but thank God we survived. Being the last child, premature, almost died during childbirth u will understand how my parents raise me up. It’s like the Malay proverb ‘bagai menatang  minyak yang penuh’  and thats what my dad always said. Both my sibling are grown up already so much of the attention is towards me. If u guys think I’m spoilt, up to you guys to judge me but i don’t act like one do I?
As I grew up, i don’t socialize much with kids my age. I don’t know why. Maybe because my parents are a bit strict with who I mixed with. They never said it, but i know. I just know from the face of my parents that they don’t allow it. Still my parents do gave me the freedom of making decision, it’s just I don’t want to do so.Thus most of the time I spent at home, watching telly  ( hahaha very British ‘telly’). I found a new love..Books. I don’t have much books at home, a set of encyclopedia (made in the 60’s) that i enjoyed very much, my brother’s science book maybe some cookbook i guess. Of course the encyclopedia is in English and I don’t understand much that time. There are pictures u know so I knew that rotating magnet can create electricity. Slowly but surely I learn English from my dad. He’s not highly educated, just a soldier. Why if he have the chance he won’t joined the Air Force in the first place! We still speak a bit of English at home, especially when I wanted something that requires his permission. When I went to people’s home I looked at their books, sitting next to their book rack. Mum said one of the ways to make me shut up is to give me a book. I’m quite talkative as child, usually telling people bout the things i read from those books. I did that till this day didn’t I?
During my early teenage years, I probably grew a bit of anti-social personality. It’s not that I hate people, it’s just I don’t know whats the word for it but I’m not used to it, OK? I don’t greet people that I do not know even if they are friends of my friends, and don’t expect me to make the first move either. People may think I’m ’sombong’ for doing so. Whatever..I just don’t feel comfortable. I prefer the word ’shy’ to describe it..hehe.
So until this day, I only have a few collection of friends and I never go to their houses, except for one or two. Most of them do invite. But it’s just that I felt awkward. My behavior, some inappropriate ones, maybe attributed to way I grew up. I’m not used mixing with people so maybe I don’t know how to carry myself in public.
Looking at the pros of it, I must say that it help me to concentrate on my education. At home, without friends what else you going to do right? I don’t read comic’s like most kids do when they grew up and internet is not like nowadays. I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, I don’t go out at late at night n ‘rempit’, I don’t sit around at shopping mall doing nothing. I guess it’s because theres no influence of it back then when the time where most people enjoyed themselves with their friends.
It’s kinda sad really that I don’t actually enjoyed my childhood the way other people do and get to know people. But looking at the pros of it in this age where we see bad things around us, I’m thankful for it and it makes me they way I am now. Now I do have the freedom to hangout with everybody else, maybe I’m just too used to be alone that I feel comfortable this way.
Thats all I can tell you about they way I grew up…

The Mujahideen of Afghanistan..

I was watching this movie called The Beast,
i forgot is it in HBO or Cinemax, but its in Astro. Its an American made film concerning
the Soviet-Afghan War (1979-1989) and was made during the 80’s. I’m not here to
tell much bout the history of the Afghan War just about the propaganda (called
it whatever u want) value.
If you notice American film during the 80’s (back in the Cold War
days), like Rambo III, James Bond film The Living Daylights, u’ll see
that the West portrayed the Afghan resistance or The Mujahideen as an honorable
fighter who defended their homeland from communist invasion. Of course being
commies they are bad in the eyes of the West.
Some of you who have more knowledge about Islamic history, go to
mosque and listen to ‘ceramah’ there more than me must ave heard about the
stories of these Mujahideen. Stories such as flock of birds blocking the Soviet
fighters on their bombing runs, or storm that stopped the Soviet tanks in their
tracks. Its not to say that I don’t believe in such things but we need to
remember that America also involve in the War in supplying the Mujahideen with
the much needed Stinger missile, to fend of the Soviet ‘Hind’ (helicopters).
Oh yes, thats what they tell back in the 80’s when the Mujahideen
is their friend against the Soviet. I saw in this documentary Zbigniew
Brzezinski (pronounce Zeb-brig-ni-ev Brez-zin-ski) said to the horde of Afghans
"This land belongs to you and you will get it back". Makes me laugh
thinking of what the American did in
Afghanistan nowadays. Total hypocrisy! Those same Mujahideen that fought off
the Soviet in the 80’s are know called insurgent and terrorist. That happened
because this fella named Osama and the 9/11, or so according to accepted
convention.

Don’t you think that they are doing the same as the Soviet did 20
years ago in the name of War against terror?

Thus Mujahideen everywhere will always be Mujahideen, fighting in
the name of religion and their homeland. I have respect for them and also for
the soldiers in both sides. Whether its the Soviet or Americans. The deserve
respect because they are locked in a war, in an environment where we peaceful
Malaysian don’t understand. They were sent there by politician not by their own
will. Any brutalities, rape or looting that happened, it is a nature of war
that nor us to judge or can escape if its happened. We know it’s wrong based on
our peacetime perception but in war anything can happened beyond reason. Thats
why it happened in the first place isn’t it?
Just be thankful and pray that we will never experience it in our
lifetime for it is a grim reality that is hard for us to understand right now,
in this peaceful convenience time.
Let us have a moment of silence for those who died in the Afghan
war, whether it is the Mujahideen or the Red
Army…………………………………………….Amen

Aliens?? Pyramids??…What the heck???

This past one week
of holiday, I’ve been sitting in front of the TV watching my favourite
programmes. My parents didn’t seem to complain my couch potato lifestyle.
Hopefully with the lack of workout, abundance of sleep and snacks, I’ll gain
some weight :-)

I’ve been watching
this program called Strangest UFO Stories
(I guess) on Discovery. Apparently this Swiss hotel manager, Erich Von Daniken
wrote a book claiming that extra-terrestrial interaction with early human culture!

It’s like those
monuments like The Pyramids of Giza and The Stonehenge are built by aliens
using high tech technology and early humans can’t possibly do the same. Heard
this somewhere? Sounds like a plot in Stargate SG-1 isn’t it? The Gods that early
human worshiped might be aliens (That’s why it is weird looking, have big
heads, multiple arms or something like that).
200pxancientastronautsIt is analogous to some native
tribe worshipping aeroplane and white people when they first met them (You guys
that have watched Gods Must be Crazy will
understand)

Anyway, I’m a
sceptic. For those believers out there; come on! Humans can build gre
at
monument without sophisticated technology. Humans are unique! Humans possess
intelligent and most importantly will power to achieve the impossible. Why
alien technology of anti-gravity is much more logical than a group of men
pulling stones on a sled? Sure wheels are not invented yet and we not sure on
the construction technique (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_pyramid_construction_techniques)
but elbow grease and sweat of thousands of men are enough to move mountain. Why
we need aliens to come to our planet and construct something for us?

There are several
findings in archaeology that’s perplexing like the Dendera Lights (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendera_light).
300pxdendera_light_002Von Daniken claims that the Egyptian has mastered the use of electricity and use
the light bulb brought by the aliens. There could be possibility of this but
the problem is there’s no evidence! There are easier way to explain it like a
part of Egyptian mythology of a lotus spawning a snake.

Some of you out
there may argue that they found a source for electricity in the antiquity for
example the so called ‘Baghdad Battery’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Battery).
Sure it can produce a little amount of electricity, but if the ancients are
more advance than today, surely the have another alternative of producing
electricity rather than a crude piece of vinegar filled jars with copper/iron
electrodes. OK..we may not find it yet but if the battery to produce electricity
for a sustainable use, its going to take a lot and lots of it which is not
economically viable.

The mystery of the
past still haunts us in many unexplainable phenomenons. Conspiracy theories are
fun to ponder at but please stick to reasonable explanation by scientists and
archaeologists. Not to say we must reject these pseudoscientific theories, it
opens our mind for a more creative thinking. But ET building the pyramids is
way too much and can be considered an insult to human ingenuity.

Things I had in mind..

Things I had in mind…Preaching for
humanity

My first blog entry, earth date, September 7, 2007

.

           I’m
at home today, managed to get a relief for L&L coz I attended it on
Thursday, the only Dr Boon’s Friday tutee coz the rest did not inform me that
they wanna go on Wednesday. No CM on Friday so I went back on Thursday eve.

            Enough
bout me, we’ll continue later. There are some things I wanted to share about.
Well, to those of you that are concerned enough to read it. No comments please
about my grammar, language or spelling, I’m not that good and I know it’s
broken. Still learning..

            The
thing is, I watched stg bout  the
Rwanda genocide on Wednesday (oh no, here Dyau goes again!). Just finished ELTM
assignment at 6.20, don’t wanna sleep n woke up at 9, what a waste, so I went
down and watch history channel. So anyway, the thing that interested me beside
the history of it is the reason of it. It’s hard to image why 2 people that are
hardly distinguishable side by side (both of em africans) kill each other at the
rate of 300 people per minute (more than the Pol Pot n Nazis). It’s kinda
complex about the story between the Hutus and the Tutsis. Some believe they
were once a single people and that of Belgian colonization wedge them apart.
The thing is colonization did play a role in dividing them. Around the 50’s or
stg there’s a power struggle. One side rules while d other is oppressed. The
oppressed turn into refugees and went to neighboring countries. Somehow the
tide reverse and d oppressed got power, thus oppressing the once ruled.

            To
make the story short on
April 6, 1994 the plane carrying
the Rwandan president and the president of
Burundi (both
were Hutus) were shot down. The Tutsis were blamed thus began one of worst
genocide in history. They were UN peacekeeping force there but they were not
allowed to involve (the peacekeepers tore their blue beret to show disgust
towards the UN when they pulled out). What are the international community is
doing? Well..nothing! There is a conflict in
Somalia
and one in
Yugoslavia (Bosnia happened at the same time I guess) so sending a large force in Rwanda
gonna cost money, logistics n nobody wants to be involved in this mess.

            Back
in
Rwanda, radio is a tool for propaganda; every Hutus took out their arms
and start to kill the Tutsis. Machete (parang in malay) is circulated between
the militias and civilian and so does d good old AK-47 (yeah!). Neighbours
start to kill each other. Villagers were dragged by the riverbanks, tied and
thrown off. In the chaos people turn to Church for refugee only to find that
Hutus priests turn them into the militias to be slaughtered. Those good ones
that provide protection were bulldozed with people in it and in one scenario
militias thrown grenades (was free for all!) into the church killing em all (d
skeletons remained to this day).

            With
nobody wants to take the responsibility in the UN, the French (those,
cheese-eating, surrender monkeys) took up the challenge and moved into

Rwanda.
Basically they don’t want any American or British to have influence in their
ex-colonies. At the same time a Tutsi invasion force (those who were once
refugees), attack
Rwanda from the north like saying we’re back and we’re kicking Hutus ass.
The Hutus were losing the war and escaped to
Zaire.

            The
Tutsis manage to gain power and stabilize
Rwanda.
Today Tutsis controlled
Rwanda. Those Hutus butchers that do not managed to escape we pardon for
their acts (in exchange for some community service, based on tribal law). So
they still live side by side to those people they once terrorize in the same
village. Islam is becoming a popular religion as they regard it more peaceful.
The fact is, Muslim Hutus and Tutsis are not involved in the genocide and even
provide shelter for the Tutsis. Some Hutus converted in order to escape
punishment. Well I’m not the judge of that

             The
thing is friends. In the history of humanity genocide happens. The
reasons…complicated (even people of the same ethnic kill each other) and each
people try to justify their action. Holocaust is the worst disaster in human
history, I agree, even if it’s the Jews who were being killed. It’s ironic to
think that some people might try to exploit these events but the thing is we
don’t need to kill each other. It’s wrong!

            We
cannot stop war, but we must prevent genocide. It is sad to think of the people
that we had dinner last night, came back today to kill our father and rape our
sisters (happened in
Bosnia). Imagine seeing a mutilated people on the street of gasping for
breath or screams of young women brutalized by several men. We don’t want that
to happen in our society and our future generation, hating each other, calling
each other with demeaning names. We are human! Not cockroaches or snakes or any
sort beast! We have intelligent therefore we should act in a dignified way.

            How
it started? Because someone believe that they are racially superior to other,
that their own the land or the land is their ancestor’s. Disrespect for each
others beliefs. Discontent over some minor issues. Try to think of it, it is
wrong to called others ‘bangsa asing’ if they are the citizen of this country!
Its is also wrong for anyone to disrespect other peoples’ belief in addition to
influence them further to abandoned their belief.

There’s no such thing is one race more
powerful (Master Race) than the other, whether its Malay becoz of the land,
nor Chinese and Indian becoz of their renown civilization or the native coz
they are here first. Every religion preaches about peace and humanity, its juz
in a different way. Like a multitude of rivers originated from the same source,
form the supreme being that every man and women belief in, GOD! And if GOD tells
us to kill each other, kill the people if this race or this belief, that is
preposterous.

            It’s
been 50 years since this nation is founded friends, and please let it last more
than another 50. Please don’t let this tiny peninsular turn into Balkan
peninsular where 3 major races (serb, croats, and Bosnian) can’t sit still.
People flock to
Malaysia becoz of its wealth. Don’t waste it over petty issues. Let’s not
create a bad history of ourselves.

PLEASE…!!!!

(p.s..It’s pretty clear to you that I hate
genocide n killing, please don’t associate me with war juz becoz I like the
history of it and like warfare technology. I don’t want to hear d next time
people describe me as ‘d war guy’ or even worst a pervert juz becoz I can
control my eyes. Please, Please, Please! And stop associate me with Nazism, I
hate being called Hitler in high school and people shouting my name when it
comes to Nazism. Juz becoz I like d history doesn’t mean I adhere to that
believe)
